Hōzō-ji Temple
法蔵寺
Hōzō-ji Temple is a historic Jōdo Shinshū temple with important treasures and castle ruins.
What it is
- A Jōdo Shinshū Honganji-ha school temple.
- Founded in 1337 as Kōseiji Temple by Gutoshi.
- Renamed Hōzō-ji in 1472.
- Moved to its current location in 1574.

- The main hall, built in 1727.
- A Rennyo autograph, a temple treasure.
- A Shinran Shōnin picture scroll from 1580.
- Kawase Castle ruins on the temple grounds.
- A white gate dragon by Jingoro Hidari.
