Ido-ji Temple

Ido-ji Temple is a historic Shingon temple, a significant stop on two pilgrimages.
What it is
- A Shingon sect temple, founded in 673.
- The 17th Fudasho of the Shikoku 88 Pilgrimage.
- The 33rd Fudasho of the Awa Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage.
- Its official name became Ido-ji in 1916.
What to see
- The main image is the Seven Yakushi Nyorai.
- A well dug by Kukai in 815.
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1971.
- A wooden Eleven-faced Kannon statue is an Important Cultural Property.
