Ikazuchi Shrine: a historic shrine in Yokosuka with a sacred ginkgo tree, 5 minutes from Oppama Station.
What it is
- Founded in 931, moved to current site in 1581.
- Dedicated to Honooikazuchi no Mikoto.
- Main shrine rebuilt in 1707, then in 1960.
- Former guardian of Oppama Naval Air Group.
