Io-ji Temple is a historic Jodo-shu temple with ancient halls and sutra collection.
What it is
- Jodo-shu Seizan Zenrin-ji sect temple.
- Founded in 986 as a hermitage.
- Main deity is Amida Nyorai.
- Converted from Shingon-shu to Jodo-shu.

- Yakushi-do hall built in 991.
- Main hall and bell tower.
- Guest hall built in 1468.
- 600 volumes of the Great Prajnaparamita Sutra.
