Iō-ji Temple
医王寺
Historic temple where a famous samurai prayed, housing important cultural properties.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Buddhist temple.
- Founded by Date Masamune, who prayed for his eye disease here.
- Original buildings burned down in 1849.

- Yakushi Nyorai statue, attributed to Jikaku Daishi.
- Yakushido hall and 17 Buddhist statues.
