What it is

  • A Shingon-shu Chizan-ha Buddhist temple.
  • Founded by Date Masamune, who prayed for his eye disease here.
  • Original buildings burned down in 1849.

  • Yakushi Nyorai statue, attributed to Jikaku Daishi.
  • Yakushido hall and 17 Buddhist statues.
  • Two 御墨印 and eight 御朱印 from the Date family.
