Irugi- Shrine

What it is

• A Shinto shrine dedicated to the deities Yamato Takeru and Okuninushi.
• Relocated to its current site in Osaki during the Edo period.
• Renamed in 1872 after previously being known as Kijinomiya and Gosha Myojin.
• The current main building was reconstructed in 1978 after wartime destruction.

What to see

• A Fujizuka mound designated as a Shinagawa scenic spot.
• The Itsukushima Shrine on the grounds, a designated tangible cultural property.
• The main shrine building reconstructed in the late twentieth century.
