What it is

  • A shrine located on an island in Kujo Pond within Kyoto Gyoen.
  • Dedicated to the three Munakata goddesses and the secondary deity Gion Nyogo.
  • Originally established in Hyogo by Taira no Kiyomori as a guardian for the Kujo family.
