Iwato Wake Shrine is an ancient Shikinaisha shrine with a unique large stone, worth visiting for history.
What it is
- An ancient Shikinaisha small shrine.
- May have guarded a barrier and gold mine.
- Known as Togakushi Daimyojin during the Edo period.
- Received Jugoi-ge Kunkyu-to rank in 843.
What to see
- The old shrine site at the foot of Sekisan.
- A large stone called Kasaishi on the grounds.
When to go
- Yabusame was dedicated during the Owa era (961-964).
