Iyato Shrine

Iyato Shrine is a local shrine with a unique main hall and an ancient camphor tree.
What it is
- Tutelary deity of Musota and Arimoto district.
- Formerly a village shrine.
- Enshrines Hondawake-no-mikoto and Okinagatarashihime-no-mikoto.
- Also enshrines Amakaguyama-no-mikoto, Hitokotonushi-no-mikoto, and Ukanomitama-no-mikoto.
What to see
- Main hall is a sangensha nagare-zukuri style.
- Main hall roof is copper plated.
- Eight auxiliary shrines are on the grounds.
- Large camphor tree, Ichiban Kusu, behind the main hall.
- Ichiban Kusu was estimated to be 300 years old in 1995.
