Jakkō-ji Temple is a historic Kyoto temple with unique treasures, worth visiting for its cultural artifacts.
What it is
- Head temple of the Kenpon Hokke sect.
- Founded as Kuon-in temple in 1578 by Nichien.
- Merged with Myōsen-ji temple and renamed in 1591.
- Moved to current location in 1708 after a fire.
