Jissō-in Temple
実相院 (足立区)
Jisso-in is a historic Shingon temple in Tokyo, part of a pilgrimage route.
What it is
- A Shingon-shu Buzan-ha temple.
- Founded by Gyoki in the Nara period.
- Minamoto no Yoriyoshi and Yoshiie donated land in 1063.
- Current main deity is Shokannon Bosatsu.
What to see
- A Ryokai Mandala, received in 1744.
- Enshrines Daikokuten, Benzaiten, and Bishamonten.
When to go
- A stop on the Iko Shichifukujin Pilgrimage.
