Jōju-ji Temple

Jōju-ji Temple is a historic Tendai Buddhist temple in Tokyo, rebuilt after the 1923 earthquake.
What it is
- A Tendai sect Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 848 by Jikaku Daishi Ennin.
- Restored in 1314 by Shunkei Hōin.
- Moved to its current location in 1927 after a fire.
