Jōon-ji Temple is a historic Rinzai Zen temple with deep ties to sumo wrestling.

- A Rinzai sect Tofuku-ji school temple.
- Founded in 1279 by Kizan Ennen.
- Also known as Tofuku-ji Osaka Betsuin.
- Has a deep connection with Osaka Sumo.

- Fukutoku Benzaiten statue is enshrined.
- Ikuno Tenjin is enshrined.
- Graves of sumo elders are located here.
- A memorial monument for Kitanoumi was erected in 2016.
