Jōon-ji Temple (Yokohama)

Jōon-ji Temple is a historic Nichiren-shu temple with ancient trees and unique statues.

- A Nichiren-shu temple.
- Founded by Horin-in Nichiju.
- Was the bettō-ji of Sugiyama Shrine until the Meiji Restoration.

- Main hall rebuilt in the 1970s, made of wood with a copper roof.
- Kuri donated by parishioners.
- 700-year-old Itohiba tree.
- 250-year-old Ginkgo tree.
- Seated statue of Shaka and Tahō Nyorai is the main object of worship.
