Jōraku-ji Temple

Jōraku-ji Temple is a historic Tendai temple with two National Treasures.
What it is
- Independent Tendai-affiliated temple, founded as Aboshisan Jōraku-ji.
- Main image is Senju Kannon.
- Known as Nishidera, meaning 'West Temple'.
- First temple of the Omi Saigoku Sanjusan Kannon Pilgrimage.
What to see
- Main hall, rebuilt in 1360, is a National Treasure.
- Three-storied pagoda, rebuilt in 1400, is a National Treasure.
When to go
- Onibashiri festival is held in mid-January.
