Jōshō-in Temple
常唱院
Jōshō-in Temple is a historic Nichiren Buddhist site with unique stone statues, rebuilt after a 1952 fire.
What it is
- A temple of the Honmon Butsuryū-shū branch of Nichiren Buddhism.
- Founded in 1831, converted from an earlier hall.
- Designated tangible cultural property of Oyama Town.
- Nichiren stayed here in 1274 and 1282.

- Current main hall and living quarters, rebuilt in 1957.
- Stone Dōsojin statues.
- Site where Nichiren drew and bestowed a Hokke Mandala.
