Jūnen-ji Temple

Jūnen-ji Temple is a historic Buddhist temple in Nara, founded in the 13th century.
What it is
- Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple.
- Founded by Ninshō during the Shōō era (1288-1292).
- Designated an imperial prayer temple by Emperor Hanazono.
- Converted to Jōdo-shū sect in 1304.

- Principal image is Amitābha Tathāgata.
- Main hall rebuilt in 1729.
- Houses a Ksitigarbha statue.
