Junisha Shrine
十二社神社
A historic shrine within a temple, dedicated to ancient deities, rebuilt over centuries.
What it is
- A bunrei (branch shrine) of Kumano Shrine.
- Records were lost in a 1560 fire.
- Renamed Junisha Shrine after Shinto-Buddhism separation.
- Twenty small shrines merged into it in 1910.
What to see
- The current shrine building, constructed in 1860.
- Ridge tag from 1597 indicates earlier reconstruction.

- 60 minutes by car from JR Tokushima Station.
- 75 minutes by car from Aizumi Interchange.
