Kaichi Kofun
垣内古墳
Kaichi Kofun was a large, ancient tomb, now gone, but its artifacts are important.
What it is
- A keyhole-shaped tomb mound from the late 4th century.
- It was the largest early Kofun period tomb in Kuwata-gun.
- Discovered in 1972 during road widening work.
What to see
- The burial mound no longer exists.
- Excavated artifacts are National Important Cultural Properties.
- Nantan City Museum displays a model and artifacts.
- Artifacts include bronze mirrors, beads, and swords.
