What it is

  • A shrine dedicated to the primary deity Kaidonokami and the secondary deity Ebisu.
  • Located on Ogojima in the Funatsu district of Arikawa.
  • Connected to the mainland by land reclamation projects completed in 2004.
  • Merged with Ebisu Shrine in the Meiji period and later into Sobokimi Shrine.

  • A rare torii gate made from whale jawbones donated in 1973.
  • Traditional improvisational theater called Niwaka performed during local festivals.
