Kaigan-ji Temple

Kaiganji is an Obaku Zen temple in Sakai City, rebuilt after a typhoon, holding unique annual events.
What it is

- One of three historic temples in Hirai village.
- Buddhist statues from other temples were moved here.
What to see
- The main hall, rebuilt in 1998.
- Buddhist statues, many damaged in a 1960 typhoon.
When to go
- April 20th and 21st for the Miei-ku event.
- August 16th for the Urabon-e event.

- 20-minute walk from Fukai Station.
- Fukai Station is on the Semboku Rapid Railway.
