Kamuhatori Shrine

A historic shrine in Takatsuki known for its ancient lineage, renovated buildings, and connection to the former Anko-ji temple complex.
What it is
- A historic site listed in the Engishiki Jinmeicho records from the early tenth century.
- Renamed Kamuhatori Shrine between 901 and 923 and formerly known as Shinpuku Shrine.
- Dedicated to the deities Hinohayahinomikoto, Maranosukune, and Susanoonomikoto.
- Managed by monks from Anko-ji Temple until the Meiji Restoration period.

- The main shrine buildings which underwent extensive renovation work completed in 2013.
- Branch shrines on the grounds dedicated to the deities Kasuga and Inari.
