Kannonshō-ji Temple
観音正寺
Kannonshō-ji Temple is a historic Tendai temple with a large Kannon statue and mountain views.
What it is
- Tendai sect temple, part of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage.
- Dedicated to Senju Kannon, founded by the 11th century.
- Located on Mount Kinugasa, 370 meters above sea level.

- 3.56-meter tall seated Senju Kannon statue.
- Current main hall, rebuilt in 2004.
- Structures designated as National Registered Tangible Cultural Properties.
- Site of Kannonji Castle.
