Karasuya

What it is

• A Shinto shrine in Osaka, founded in 1215.
• Dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami and other deities.
• Renamed Karasuya in 1592 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

• Three subsidiary shrines are on the grounds.

• Summer festival: July 31 and August 1.
