Kasuga Shrine

What it is

• Guardian shrine for the blacksmiths of Seki City founded in 1288.
• The deity was originally invited from the famous Kasuga Daimyojin in Nara.
• Rebuilt in 1433 by the swordsmith Magoroku Kaneyuki.

• A collection of sixty-three Important Cultural Property Noh costumes.
• Fifty-three Noh and Kyogen masks designated as Important Cultural Properties.
• A traditional Noh stage reconstructed on the grounds in 1959.
