Katsushima

An artificial island in Tokyo featuring a major horse racing track, a public aquarium, and a large waterfront park.
What it is
- An artificial island in Tokyo Shinagawa Ward created through a land reclamation project started in 1939.
- A functional district named by the Ministry of the Navy containing warehouses and corporate distribution centers.
- Home to the Ohi Racecourse which was completed on the island in September 1950.
- Site of the Shinagawa Kumin Park which opened to the public in 1987.
