Kawara Shrine
河原神社
This ancient shrine, a branch of Ise Grand Shrine, protects the Miyagawa River.
What it is
- A sessha of Ise Grand Shrine's Geku.
- Dedicated to Kawakami, guardian of the Miyagawa River.
- Founded before 927 AD, re-established in 1663.
- Mori Shrine, founded before 804 AD, is enshrined here.
