Kawase Shrine

What it is

• A former Gosha shrine.
• Dedicated to Onamuchi no kami, Hachiman Okami, and Oyamakui no Mikoto.
• Revered by the Ii clan, lords of Hikone Domain.
• Called Kawaketa Shrine until the Edo period.

• Main shrine, relocated from Kyoto in 1864.
