Keirin-ji Temple
桂林寺
Keirinji is a historic Soto Zen temple with a unique Kannon hall and important cultural properties.
What it is
- A Soto Zen Buddhist temple.
- Founded in 1396 by Utsunomiya Mitsutsuna.
- Its mountain name is Matsuhozan.
- Rebuilt after being burned down in 1868.

- The main hall houses a standing Kannon statue.
- An octagonal Kannon-do hall is on the grounds.
- Gamo Kimpei's tombstone is in the cemetery.
