  • Possibly the tomb of Empress Saimei.

What to see

  • A three-tiered octagonal tumulus, 4.5 meters high.
  • A stone chamber carved from a single tuff boulder.
  • The stone chamber weighs approximately 70 tons.
  • Inside, two burial spaces are present.
  • Fragments of a dry lacquer coffin were excavated.
