Kōchō-ji Temple
光長寺
Kōchō-ji Temple is a significant Nichiren Buddhist head temple founded in 1276, preserving rare treasures.
What it is
- A head temple of the Honmon Butsuryū-shū branch of Nichiren Buddhism.
- Founded in 1276 by Nichiren, with co-founders Nichishun and Nichiho.
- One of four head temples of its Nichiren Buddhist branch.
- It has five sub-temples.
