What it is

  • A granite hilly region in southern Okayama Prefecture within Setonaikai National Park.
  • Originally an island named Kibi no Kojima before land reclamation in 1618.
  • A thirty kilometer stretch of land spanning Okayama, Kurashiki, and Tamano cities.
  • Home to Rendaiji Temple, the sixth site on the Chugoku Kannon Pilgrimage.
