Komyoji Temple is a historic Buddhist site in Tokyo, known for its ancient origins and religious transitions.
What it is
- A Jodo-shu Buddhist temple.
- Founded by Gyoki during the Tenpyo era (729-749).
- Revived by Kobo Daishi Kukai (810-824).
- Converted to Jodo-shu during the Kanki era (1229-1232).
