Kotokuji Temple: a historic Shingon temple with a towering Kannon statue, easily accessible by train.
What it is
- Koyasan Shingon sect temple.
- Founded as Yakushi-in during Prince Shotoku's lifetime.
- Restored by Gyoki between 729 and 749.
- One of Gyoki's 49 temples.

- Principal image is Yakushi Rurikō Nyorai.
- Main hall rebuilt in 1952.
- Statue of Juntei Kannon.
- Juntei Kannon statue is approximately 10 meters tall.
