What it is

  • Koyasan Shingon sect temple.
  • Founded as Yakushi-in during Prince Shotoku's lifetime.
  • Restored by Gyoki between 729 and 749.
  • One of Gyoki's 49 temples.

  • Principal image is Yakushi Rurikō Nyorai.
  • Main hall rebuilt in 1952.
  • Statue of Juntei Kannon.
  • Juntei Kannon statue is approximately 10 meters tall.
