Koyasu-ji Temple
子安寺
Koyasuji Temple is a historic Tendai temple with a unique Kannon statue and a mountaintop Shinto shrine.
What it is
- A Tendai sect temple, also known as Koyasu Kannon.
- Its principal image is Nyoirin Kannon Bosatsu.
- Rebuilt in its current location in 1671.
What to see
- A 30cm seated Nyoirin Kannon statue, yosegi-zukuri technique.
- An Inari shrine on the right side of the temple.
- A long stone staircase leading to a Shinto shrine.
- Shinmei Shrine located on the mountaintop.
