Koyurugi Shrine is a historic guardian shrine on a cape, rebuilt by a famous samurai.

What it is

  • A guardian shrine for the former Koshigoe Village.
  • Dedicated to three deities including Takehaya Susanoo no Mikoto.
  • Rebuilt by Nitta Yoshisada between 1334 and 1338.
  • Designated a Japan Heritage cultural property in 2016.
