Kōzen-ji Temple is a historic Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple with important cultural properties.
What it is
- A Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple.
- Formerly an okunoin of Gangō-ji Temple.
- Main hall rebuilt in 1649 by Chōyo Shōnin.
What to see
- Main hall enshrines statues of Zendo Daishi and Enkō Daishi.
- Kannon-dō enshrines a wooden Amitābha Tathāgata statue.
- Kannon-dō also enshrines an Eleven-faced Kannon statue.
- Two scrolls of letters by Hōnen and Shōkū.
- Stone Amitābha Triad statue from the Kamakura period.
