What it is

  • A Jōdo-shū Buddhist temple.
  • Formerly an okunoin of Gangō-ji Temple.
  • Main hall rebuilt in 1649 by Chōyo Shōnin.

What to see

  • Main hall enshrines statues of Zendo Daishi and Enkō Daishi.
  • Kannon-dō enshrines a wooden Amitābha Tathāgata statue.
  • Kannon-dō also enshrines an Eleven-faced Kannon statue.
  • Two scrolls of letters by Hōnen and Shōkū.
  • Stone Amitābha Triad statue from the Kamakura period.
