松橋神社
Matsubase Shrine is a historic site in Uki City, rebuilt after a fire.
What it is
- Also called Matsubase Kumanogu or Matsubase Gongensha.
- Established in 1049 by Fujiwara no Michitaka.
- Dedicated to Izanami no Mikoto and two other deities.
- Received protection from the Kikuchi and Nawa clans.
What to see
- The shrine building was burned down in 1599.
- It was restored during the time of Kato Kiyomasa.
