Mio Shrine is an ancient site dedicated to imperial ancestors, featuring unique architecture and a garden.
What it is
- Formerly two shrines, Konami-sha and Koho-sha.
- Dedicated to Iwatsukuwakeno-mikoto and Himegami.
- Iwatsukuwakeno-mikoto is an ancestor of two clans.
- Himegami is the mother of Emperor Keitai.

- Main hall built in Ikkensha-nagare-zukuri style.
- Mio Teien, a Japanese garden completed in 1996.
- Haido Kofun-gun, a group of tumuli behind the shrine.
