Mount Akaishi

What it is

• The seventh highest peak in Japan standing at 3,120.5 meters above sea level.
• A major mountain in the Southern Alps designated as part of a national park in 1964.
• Named after the red radiolarian chert found in the nearby Akaishi Stream.
