Mount Asahi

What it is

• A 2,418-meter peak located within the Ushiro-Tateyama Mountain Range.
• Part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park on the Toyama and Niigata border.
• One of the 300 Famous Japanese Mountains and namesake for Asahi town.
• A protected natural area where a proposed cross-mountain road was rejected.
