Mount Hakkyō

What it is

• The highest mountain in Nara Prefecture and the Kinki region at 1,915 meters.
• A UNESCO World Heritage site located within the Omine mountain range.
• One of the 100 Famous Japanese Mountains also known as Mount Bukkyo.
• A protected habitat for the Bukkyogatake primeval forest and Magnolia sieboldii.
