What it is

  • Legendary burial site of the deity Izanami located on the Hiroshima and Shimane border.
  • Part of the Hiba-Dogo-Taishaku Quasi-National Park with peaks reaching 1,264 meters.
  • Site of a 1970 cryptid sighting known as the Hibagon.
  • Home to a rare basalt lava lake formed over one million years ago.
