- A 607.6 meter mountain in southern Oita City formerly known as Mount Sasamuta
- Site of the inner shrine of Sasamuta Shrine founded in the year 278
- The natural source of three different rivers
- A sacred location where the original summit shrine was moved to the foothills in 1409
