What it is

  • A 212.3 meter tall mountain bordering Tokushima City and Ishii Town.
  • Named by Minamoto no Yoshitsune in 1185 during the Genpei War.
  • Site of the sixteenth-century Yano Castle ruins built by Yano Kunimura.
  • Location of the original Yakura Hime Shrine at the mountain summit.
