Mount Kinugasa

What it is

• A mountain standing 201 meters tall on the border of Kita and Ukyo wards.
• Also known as Kinukakeyama, it is a prominent landmark in northern Kyoto.
• The peak is the namesake for the local Kinugasa-don rice bowl dish.
• Legend says Emperor Uda draped the mountain in white silk to view snow in summer.
