Mount Kyūshō

What it is

• A 263-meter granite mountain that served as the site for Tottori Castle.
• The castle was originally constructed here during the Muromachi period.
• The area was designated as a national historic site in 1957.
• A natural habitat for 120 bird species and over 170 types of mushrooms.

What to see

• Remaining stone walls from the former castle structures.
• Dense forests consisting of evergreen broad-leaved trees.

• Visit in August to see the Buddhist Daimonji light display.
