Mount Nanshō
南昌山
A 848-meter peak featuring a historic shrine and unique volcanic rock formations, famously featured in Kenji Miyazawa's literature.
What it is
- A mountain standing 848 meters above sea level on the border of Shizukuishi and Yahaba.
- One of the Shiwa Three Mountains featuring a volcanic neck peak of quartz porphyry.
- Home to Nansho-san Shrine, which enshrines the deity Seiryu Gongen.
