Mount Ōbora

What it is

• A mountain in the Muroo Volcanic Group consisting of two peaks named Odake and Medake
• Part of the Muroo-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park and one of the Kansai 100 Mountains
• The higher peak Odake stands at 1013 meters while Medake stands at 985 meters

What to see

• The Tokai Nature Trail which runs across the mountainside for hikers
• A triangulation point located at the summit of the Medake peak
• Skyland Obora campsite situated at an elevation of 700 meters
• The Shinfuku-in temple approach which is a nationally designated scenic spot
