Nakagawa Shrine is a historic local shrine in Nakatsugawa City, rebuilt over centuries.
What it is
- A village shrine dedicated to three deities.
- It is the tutelary deity of Nakatsugawa City.
- Formerly known as Hakusan-sha or Susukino-mori.
- Became a village shrine in 1873.
What to see
- The current main hall, rebuilt in 1677.
- Worship hall and naorai-den, rebuilt in 2002.
When to go
- Annual festival on the second Sunday of April.
- See Nakatsugawa Taiko and Jindai Shishi at the festival.
